Technical data Calibration of a thermometerArticle no: P9170400 Principle In the experiment, an ungraded thermometer is calibrated to the Celsius scale. To do this, the thermometer (without scale) is immersed in ice water. If the liquid level in the thermometer no longer changes, the level is marked. The thermometer is then immersed in boiling water. As in the first step, the height of the liquid level is now marked and the difference between the two marks is divided into 100 equal parts (one division then corresponds to one degree Celsius).
