Save energy, use pulleys

Principle

A fixed roller remains in place when moving a load. The force with which you lift the load is exactly equal to the weight of the load. However, you can redirect the force in a different direction from which you can pull more comfortably. A loose pulley moves on the rope from which it is suspended. In this experiment it is combined with a fixed pulley. The force of the load is distributed between the two ends of the rope and is thus halved. In return, the distance required to lift the load is doubled.
