On the skin of the tongue, which is a continuation of the oral mucosa, are the taste buds as wart-shaped elevations. These contain the actual taste organs, the taste buds with the taste nerves. The beige coating consists of the sometimes thickened tongue epithelium, saliva and food residues. The posterior, thicker part of the tongue is the root of the tongue. Bluish blood vessels can be seen on the underside of the tongue. The membranous frenulum can also be seen there. Scope of delivery
