Principle

In this experiment, the influence of a changing magnetic field on an electrical conductor is investigated. For this purpose, a magnet is dropped through a coil.

Tasks

Drop the magnet through the coil and plot the voltage curve. Find out how the induced voltage depends on the drop height of the magnet.

Learning objectives

Students learn the principle of electromagnetic induction. They examine and understand the course of the induced voltage during the falling time of the magnet.
