Emergency power supply with Cobra SMARTsense Code

Article no: P1379069

Pinciple

The principle of an emergency power supply is analysed. A lamp is operated by a main power source while a sensor monitors the current flow. In the event of a simulated power failure, the system automatically switches to a separate power source.

Tasks

Programme the Cobra SMARTsense code device to control a circuit that supplies a lamp via two power sources. See how your code automatically activates the backup power source in the event of a simulated power failure and thus maintains the lighting.

Learning objectives

Students will learn how an emergency power supply works. They will understand how sensors and programmable control units are used to automatically control an electrical circuit. They acquire practical skills in setting up electrical circuits and programming simple control sequences.
