Magnetic field inside a coil with Cobra SMARTsense

Article no: P6301169

Principle
If current is allowed to flow through a coil, it generates a magnetic field. The strength of the magnetic field depends on both the properties of the coil and the current. The greater the current, the stronger the magnetic flux density.

Tasks

1. Investigate the relationship between the magnetic flux density inside a coil and the current strength.

2. determine the value for the magnetic field constant.

Learning objectives

The dependence of the magnetic flux density on the current strength is investigated. Pupils learn how to derive the magnetic field constant using the measurement data obtained.
