The detection of oxygen

Article no: P7170300
Principle

In a demonstration experiment the indirect detection of oxygen can be carried out under a nitrogen atmosphere or vacuum to prove that the oxygen really does originate from the compound.

Learning objectives

  • A very large number of organic compounds contain oxygen.
  • Oxygen can be detected as water when such substances decompose.

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for the topic Organic Chemistry matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
