Driving a water wheel

The motion of the water wheel was used in the past mainly in mills, for example, to grind grain.

With a water wheel you could also turn a dynamo. The electrical energy can be used to power different motors, for example, pumps.

Today, huge turbines are used to generate electric energy in hydroelectric plants.
