Sealed radioactive Sr-90 source with an activity of 45 kBq.

The source is fixed in a central blind hole of an aluminum cylinder so that it is safe to touch and is supplied in a protective aluminum case.

Regulations

The source has a type approval and may therefore be used in the Federal Republic of Germany by educational institutions without notification and approval. Educational institutions should nevertheless clarify with their competent authority whether further regulations have to be observed. In other countries, other official requirements apply when handling radioactive substances.
