Principle

This experiment is about simulating diabetic retinopathy.
Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease that occurs in people with diabetes. It is caused by damage to the blood vessels of the retina, the light-sensitive part at the back of the eye. As diabetes progresses, high blood sugar levels can damage the walls of these small blood vessels, weakening, blocking or causing them to leak. In advanced stages, the disease can lead to the formation of new but faulty blood vessels that can lead to the retina and cause further damage, including retinal detachment and glaucoma, which can lead to vision loss.
