Principle
The heart is a vital organ. It consists of two pumps working at the same time, which keep different circuits going. The heart pumps blood to all parts of the body. In this way, all the cells of the body are supplied with oxygen and nutrients. Both circuits play cause our heartbeat by the two atria of the heart contracting. In an adult, the heart beats about 70 times in one minute.
The students first measure their heartbeat/pulse while sitting (resting pulse) and then after doing 15 squats. The results are recorded and compared in groups of 5 students.
