Function and applications
Made of DURAN® and usable in conjunction with a glass jacket and calorimeter insert for measuring the enthalpy of reactions in gases. The lid is screw-fitted so that it is forms an airtight fit with the calorimeter insert. Gas is fed in via two capillary tubes and current is fed directly to the heating chamber of the calorimeter via two platinum electrodes. The electrodes are connected to a high-voltage power supply, causing a permanent arc in the heating chamber, which continually ignites the gases entering the chamber.
Benefits
- Gas feed via capillary tubes
- Ignition via 2 platinum electrodes directly in the heating chamber itself
- The electrodes are connected to a high-voltage power supply, causing a permanent arc to be produced in the heating chamber.
Equipment and technical data
- External diameter of capillary tubes: 8 mm
