Principle

Water is essential for human and animal and be taken in liquid form or be absorbed by food. Almost all foods contain water, the water content in natural products is high, especially in some fruits and vegetables in a very high proportion. In this experiment students investigate the water content of natural products. These different fruits and vegetables are examined, therefor the natural material is crushed and heated in a test tube. Before and after heating the natural substance is determined by its weight.

Learning objectives

  • Water content in natural products
  • Tests for water

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for all Inorganic Chemistry matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
