Principle

Burnt gypsum can be cured by adding water and is used as a building material. This process is based on the absorption of water and of the consequent reformation of crystalline structures. In this experiment calcined gypsum is hardened by adding water and examined and proofed that gypsum can be used as building material. During the reaction temperature change can be observed.

Learning objectives

  •  Using gypsum as building material

Benefits

  • Easy teaching and efficient learning by using interactive experimentation PHYWE-Software
  • Experiment is part of a complete solution set with experiments for all Inorganic Chemistry matched with international curriculum: all topics are covered
