Principle
The students observe the force that needs to be applied when pulling a mass with different surface qualities over different types of surfaces and notice that the surface quality of the mass as well as the surface quality of the surface over which the mass is pulled has a direct influence on the tractive force. They draw the conclusion that friction can impair the transport of loads, but also that friction is essential for motion and adhesion.
Benefits
- Experiment guides are very easy to understand, especially for younger students
- Associated competences are directly linked to the experiments
- Curriculum compatible
- Fit for the future: implementation of tablets possible
