Principle

When illuminated with the light of a 120 W reflector lamp, the air in the black test tube heats up much faster than the air in the white test tube. Under the given experimental conditions, the measurement should take at least 5 minutes. Then the difference in this example is 5°C and after 10 minutes more than 10°C.
