Principle

If a widened laser beam is dropped onto two flat mirrors slightly inclined at a small angle to each other, two coherent light beams are obtained by reflection, which interfere with each other in their overlapping area. An interference pattern of parallel light and dark fringes appears on a screen.

Benefits

  • Curriculum-relevant DEMO Experiment in optics
  • Equivalence to corresponding student experiment
  • Stable optical bench
  • Compact, simple construction

Tasks

  • Generation of interference with the aid of a Fresnel double mirror
