Principle
The current-voltage characteristic of a wind generator (wind turbine) describes the behavior under load, e.g. when connecting different incandescent lamps. An incandescent lamp can be operated optimally by the wind generator if resistance and rated voltage match the maximum of the power curve. To record the characteristic curve, a resistance decade is connected to the wind generator. It has 12 switch positions, with different resistances (also short-circuit and open), whose values were selected so that the course of the characteristic curve can be well represented.
