Function and Applications

Spectroscope with variable slit width hand superimposed wavelength scale.

Benefits

The wavelength scale can be calibrated via an adjustment screw.

A small prism can be swiveled in front of the slit by means of a rotary lever, which then covers half of the slit.

This prism is illuminated by a small, fixed, rotatable mirror.

This allows the observer to see two spectra at the same time, one above the other, which can be directly compared with each other.

Colored solutions can be examined with a small test tube placed directly in front of the slit.

The absorbed spectral components are clearly identified when the spectrum of the light source is viewed through the comparison prism.

Five matching small test tubes and a case are included in the scope of delivery.
